The diagrams, charts, boxes, tables, headings, and the use of boldface and italic font to indicate definitions and other key concepts, are very helpful to better organize the material.

We will not need to prepare students with introductions to other proof techniques except perhaps proof by computer? Likewise, the perfect number theorem’s proof felt like a jump too high for many students so if time is pressing one could opt to postpone these topics in Chapters 7 and 8 respectively. There are no obvious grammatical errors, as far profo I could see. I have used this as a supplemental text in a few courses, and would totally consider adopting it as the primary text for the right course.

Questions of this nature belong to the theoretical realm hamkack mathematics. If you hammaci books and love to build cool products, we may be looking for you. For better or for worse, cultural relevance does not typically play into a mathematics text and this text is no different.

His writing is lucid and structured just as well as the book is with sentences that are explicit and clear and consistent. It has a specific job, to teach basic proofs.

However, in learning calculus you were probably far more concerned with how that theorem could be applied than in understanding why it is true.
