ACROREAD RELOAD PDF
Suppose my currently open document is modified by another applications (for instance I have recompiled the LaTeX that generates the PDF), is there a w. acroread does not support it. The PDF reader Evince (Document Viewer), which is installed by default, automatically reloads if the file it is. It will automatically refresh when the pdf is updated. Adobe Reader and/or Adobe Acrobat are notorious for not supporting auto-refreshing the view of a PDF .

Post as a guest Name. At the moment I am working on a Windows machine, and I am trying to recreate the same workflow. There is no refresh feature built into Acrobat I assume because the assumption is that you cannot – or should not – modify the file while it’s open in Acrobat.
I have seen this questions has been asked several times over the years, but apparently no feature existed.

Although, I have used evince only in linux, I am sure it has the same features in Windows. For acrlread you would use a combination of setInterval and setTimeOut and their ending functions.
It is just that Adobe is programmed to keep a lock on the file or keep acroreda open for no reason instead of opening and skipping to the file location it needs on demand.
Current Adobe Reader 9. Lei 2 3 I don’t think it is a viewer issue but rather a Windows issue acoread Adobe Reader doesn’t lock the files on either Mac or Linux. In some answer I read that one could make a sort of “adobe script” to make this feature, anybody wants to comment on this options? Post as a guest Name. Try another PDF viewer like Sumatra If you need that, you should switch your viewer. Acrobat Reader DC installation is a two-part process: Maybe now is finally available? For reflow view, that only applies for smaller screens, again does not fit the scenario described.
Been a few acrroead since I asked this question, so I figured would be good to give it closure, for anyone facing the same problem. The installer is downloaded, and then Reader is installed.
